thanks for sending me the link to theology bits I listened to the podcast on life after death
ReplyDeleteInteresting although probably raised more questions than it answered
Although I did wonder if you went to a spiritualist would you be able to accept that message and believe it? Could you fact become addicted desperately seeking out that next contact(any contact being better than no contact even if it causes distress.)And what if you didn't get a message would that in itself be even more upsetting? People are very vulnerable when grieving and care has to be taken that we don't create further misery and suffering albeit unintentionally.
In relation to experinces around death do our minds create images around us that help us to cope with the traumatic incident or do we really experience something?
I do relate to what Esther had to say in regards to folks coming back and telling what it is like on the other side and how good a place it is, at a time of loss people are so vulnerable and it is an instinct /need to want to go with your loved one because what's the point without them? Great care needs to be taken and support given to people at a time of loss. I beleive that God knows what we need as invidiuals and that we are all different and therefore respond differently to situations and he extends comfort to us either practically, spiritually or both. When you lose someone close to you the hardest thing to do in this world is to carry on living in it.
